Mathematician May Have Solved 100-Year-Old Problem

Perelman is a mathematician at the Steklov Institute of Mathematics in St. Petersburg, Russia, who may have solved a 100-year-old math problem known as Poincare's Conjecture. If Perelman succeeded, he could be eligible for a $1 million prize. This is arguably the most famous unsolved problem in math, and has been for some time.
