This is by far not my favorite national debt clock, but your share as a family of 3 is $57,708.86 for Breadwinner(s) in Family of 3 (snapshot 1/23/07). How did the General Fund (gross national debt) end up $8 trillion in the hole? Tax cuts and spending increases--largely military spending increases, plus there is a little debt left over from WWII.
